On Friday 2nd October 2020, Mark Shelford visited Burnham-On-Sea, in the Wells Constituency to discuss with the local MP the need for review as to how the Police deal with illegal encampments.
He commented, "I spent an afternoon in Burnham-On-Sea, listening and understanding to the concerns of the residents as to the lack of engagement of the councils in dealing with illegal encampments swiftly and fairly."
"I also met the excellent local MP, James Heappey, and fully support his attempts to co-ordinate activity between local councils and the Police in helping travellers find permanent and safe pitches, reducing anti-social behaviour and making residents feel safer."
Mark wants to know your thoughts on local encampments by using the crime survey on this website.
