Since January I have been going out and about all over Avon and Somerset holding Councillor Forums to engage with local councillors from all over the area. It was a campaign pledge of mine to meet up with local elected representatives to ensure their concerns over local crime and policing matters were heard and to try and solve issues specific to their communities. It has been great to have officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing teams with me, answering specific operational questions and picking up on information local councillors have passed on. So far I have met up with councillors from Bath, Keynsham, Glastonbury, Portishead, Yeovil, South Gloucestershire, Taunton and most recently Bristol. I will be reporting back in six months time with all of them to see if we have been able to make improvements for their communities.
